Shag Rug DIY

Hello all you DIY-istas, feel like crafting? Cancel dinner reservations because we're about to get shaggy with it. We've dipped our hands in the craft jar and out popped a shag rug made completely from ribbon, an old tee and left over fabric pieces that were found laying around our space.

We were really in the mood to make an eye-catching new accent piece - something funky and comfy between our toes. Naturally, MIDORI's ulta-soft Herringbone ribbon the perfect choice to this craft calling.

After the jump, our steps for making your very own shag rug.

Things you'll need:

1. Plastic canvas 2. Scissors 3. Ribbon 4. Blood, sweat & tears

Step 1: Choose your favorite shades of Herringbone ribbon. There is no limit; have fun with MIDORI's colors! You can also mix in scraps from an oversized tee or old fabric. Cut all ribbon and scraps into 8" long pieces

Step 2. Insert one end of ribbon through canvas, then insert the other end through the square diagonal to the 1st.

Step 3: Tie together, creating a knot on the canvas

Step 4. Repeat.

Step 5: Show off that fabulous rug!

Note: You can create any design you want with this simple DIY. Fill up your rows or scatter them around to measure your rug's thickness!
